Field Inspector – Eastern Ontario, Southern Quebec Region Scope: Canadian Egg Marketing Agency (CEMA) is looking for an experienced Field Inspector to conduct regular site visits and audits, deliver educational programs and be an ambassador representing CEMA in their area of responsibility. Duties and Responsibilities: The position reports to the Field Operations Manager. Key responsibilities include: •Conduct field audits of producer sites to monitor hen inventories •Inspect the quality of product purchased and sold by CEMA •Educate and promote food safety and animal care programs and inspect for compliance •Verify products by monitoring grading stations and breaking plants, reviewing their storage conditions and ensuring proper documentation and labelling •Summarize and report results weekly Qualifications: Candidates must have 2 – 3 years of experience in the field of agriculture with specialized community college education in poultry or livestock. Additional qualifications and skills required include: •Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English and French for the purpose of completing daily activities is required •Knowledge and understanding of poultry/livestock management and practices •Ability to influence and collaborate with external stakeholders any issues and concerns in a constructive manner and gain their support and compliance •Strong diplomacy and conflict resolution skills •Valid driver’s licence and able to drive for regular site visits •Experienced with HACCP-based food safety programs and auditing principles •Knowledge of regulations under the Canada Agricultural Products Act, proper on-farm procedures and practices, bio-security, water safety etc. •Ability to work independently and in a team environment CEMA provides challenging opportunities and competitive rewards. Sales Manager, Agribusiness Our client is the principle refiner and largest industrial user of corn in Canada, producing a full range of products to the food, beverage and paper industries. They seek an experienced sales professional to join their team, who will be responsible for generating revenue and maximizing profitability by managing the commercial activities of co-products, including sales, service to customers, and market development within the geographical regions of Quebec, Maritimes, Eastern Ontario, New York, and Vermont. Position Responsibilities: - Sell and develop/maintain relationships with existing and potential customers throughout the region - Sell co-products into the feedmill, livestock, pet food and liquid feed sector which includes corn gluten feed, corn gluten meal, corn germ meal, cracked corn wet feed, steepwater, filteraid, DDGS, distillate and dried gums - Manage sales of corn sweeteners and starches where applicable and sales of off-spec sweeteners and starches for livestock applications when available - Liaise with customer service, order coordinators, logistics, and credit to facilitate problem solving for pricing resolution and customer related issues and needs- act as focal point for customer service improvement and other process improvement - Develop and implement pricing and distribution strategies and negotiate short and long term contracts to ensure maximum netbacks - Manage customer volume takeaway to maximize profitability while reflecting capacity constraint - Identify possible new applications for current product mix for co-products sweeteners and starches - Work with U.S. counterparts to assure harmonization of the Canada/US marketplace in the marketing of feed and meal - Generate and disseminate information on industry trends, global issues, financial reports on customers, new product applications and other issues related to the industry and the competition - Generate monthly sales reports, volume and price forecasts, market analysis, and communication of competitive market activity Selection Criteria: - Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Sciences, Agri-Business or equivalent - Minimum 3 years experience in Agricultural sales - Animal nutrition experience an asset - Solid understanding of livestock and feed applications - French language skills preferred, but not a firm requirement - Demonstrated ability to organize, schedule and successfully manage multiple projects and tasks - Superior written and verbal communication skills with presentation proficiency - Superior interpersonal skills and proven ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers This position is based in a corporate regional office- either in Eastern Ontario or in Western Quebec- and there is a requirement for some travel throughout the region.
