Our client is an established and expanding international swine genetics company with global operations. Their mission is to provide producers with innovative genetic choices, adapted to the needs of producers, processors and consumers. As a result of continuing growth in demand and market share, they seek a sales representative and genetics advisor for the Ontario market.
Reporting to the Canadian director, this key person will continue to develop the market and manage customers in alignment with business objectives. Effectively representing the brand, the sales representative will have direct contact with producers and other industry stakeholders, including finishers, processors, veterinarians, feed suppliers, brokers, and equipment suppliers throughout Ontario, and into Western Canada and the US.
Through direct producer visits and information meetings, the sales representative will identify opportunities, analyze customer needs, help customers choose genetic options adapted to their production and marketing needs, and give technical follow-up to customers ensuring the maximum expression of traits and potential. The company has a team of technical experts at the disposal of the representative, and these personnel can be utilized to ensure an excellent level of customer service and brand awareness. Sales growth will be a natural outcome of these activities.
The ongoing development and coordination of the multiplier system will also be a key responsibility. The representative will also take part in the development of marketing and promotional plans for the business.
Our client seeks the following qualifications in applicants:

-The demonstrated ability to persevere, work remotely and leverage the autonomy this position offers toward business success
-Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building skills
-Superior communication, negotiation, sales and persuasion skills
-A high degree of professional integrity and business ethics
-A deep knowledge of swine production, the Canadian and the US swine industry
-2 to 3 years of related experience as a minimum
-A post secondary diploma or degree in agriculture or agricultural business
-Well developed computer skills
-The ability to travel within the region
