Position:                               Crop Advisor - Permanent Full Time

Location:                              7142 County Road 2 W. Cobourg ON K9A 4J7

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for selling seed, fertilizer and crop protection products to new and existing customers.
  • Crop Advisor’s time will be spent on frequent visits to customer farms to establish contact and determine business needs.  You will provide agronomic recommendations regarding fertilizer, seed and crop protection products while promoting the company’s services and products.
  • Visit existing and potential customer farms and provide field scouting and soil sampling services to better understand customer requirements.
  • Assist in managerial tasks such as purchasing inventory, and dispatching deliveries and custom application jobs.
  • Additional hours are required during the spring season.

 

Qualifications:

  • University or College degree in Agriculture or equivalent work experience.
  •  The Certified Crop Advisor designation would be considered an asset, or willingness to pursue CCA certification.
  • Strong understanding of the crop inputs business, farm customers and the agriculture industry.
  •  Strong selling skills
  • Self-starter (requires little supervision)
  • First-rate computer skills
  • Must be confident and knowledgeable with crop protection products and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability in generating  sales revenue
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
