Laniuk Farms Ltd.

Address: 4514 Maple Street
Vegreville, Alberta
T9C 1L3

Our family operates a large-scale grain operation. Our team consists of motivated, dedicated people who are passionate about agriculture, are focused on results and who genuinely love their job and do what it takes to ensure the success and stability of our operation. This position is full-time – and will include long hours when required during post spring, growing season, harvest and post-harvest.

This is not ‘just’ a “FARM HAND” role. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of our sprayer and application process during the growing season, and use your Class 1 driving for us during the non-growing season.  The successful candidate will be a valued member of our team who will make daily decisions that will add value and profit to our farm.

In this role you will:

-          Operate our John Deere 4940 Sprayer to distribute chemical as required throughout the growing season

-          Conduct regular maintenance and repair to the Sprayer and other equipment as required

-          Mix and prepare chemical mixtures for each grain crop

-          Maintain efficient and correct records of chemical inventory

-          Report any grain crop concerns throughout the growing season

-          Scout fields and record data on farm programs

-          Drive semi & trailer (Super B, Tridem etc) during non-growing season

To be successful in this role, you must have a Class 1 License with a clean drivers’ abstract. You have experience operating farm equipment and understand the importance of following chemical protocols. You possess excellent organizational and computer skills – with the ability to monitor and react to GPS systems used in our equipment. To assist in the ability to report crop concerns, having a working knowledge of agronomy and a general understanding of crop health, weeds and insects would be beneficial. You are comfortable working independently, but also appreciate and understand the importance of working as part of a team. Most importantly, you have great work ethic, a mature attitude and still recognize the value of perpetual learning.

If you believe you can add value to our team – contact us today. We value our team and reward accordingly.
