Grain Merchandising & Business Development Coordinator/Manager
Location: SW Ontario office
Our client, a progressive, full-service farm supply company located in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, positions itself as a value-added supplier, not as a price house. They constantly invest in the company to expand markets and improve future business, and they enjoy a well-established name brand, a solid reputation of quality and service, and a dedicated customer base.
As part of their development plans, they seek a Grain Merchandising & Business Development Coordinator/Manager responsible for all grain marketing activities and to assist on other areas of the operation.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Grain Merchandising & Business Development Coordinator/Manager will generate revenue by proactively originating grain from an existing customer base and targeted clients, and will consult regularly with clients to ascertain client needs while developing long-term relationships. Additionally, this position is responsible for the sale of procured grain with a view to maximizing the return on such sales. This position is responsible for developing and implementing grain-marketing programs to provide profitable solutions and expand the customer base.
While mentoring, guidance and training will be provided as appropriate and as required, the successful candidate will enjoy a great deal of autonomy in this position. As the organization is very streamlined and lacks “politics”, direct access to the GM is a core element of the culture. The position affords opportunities to build a department “from the ground up”, to expand into other areas of the business, and to expand and make changes to systems.
As a leading candidate for this role- whether fully experienced in the grain trade or seeking to learn more- you can relate to a wide range of people, can analyze the grain market and negotiate a good deal, and can set a plan of action into place and execute a strategy. You are well organized, an excellent communicator, seek diversity and challenge in your work along with the opportunity to grow, and can envision change and propose improvements to processes.
Our client offers a competitive compensation package consisting of competitive base salary and bonus/profit share opportunity, comprehensive benefits and more.
If you fit the profile above, want to join a company that is innovative and wants to grow, and seek a position that offers personal and professional growth potential, you should apply today for this unique opportunity.
